Gateway of Paths
Concept statement
“Gateway of Paths” is an architectural installation inspired by the iconic wrought-iron entrances of the Paris Métro, reinterpreted through a contemporary spatial composition.
The curved iron archway evokes the elegance of Art Nouveau design, framing the staircase as a symbolic threshold. Moroccan-patterned tiles line the ascending steps, introducing rhythmic geometry that guides movement upward and creates a visual journey through pattern, texture, and form.
At the summit, a sculptural element inspired by the ushnisha — the sacred topknot of the Buddha — emerges in gold, symbolizing wisdom, enlightenment, and spiritual awakening.
Together, these elements transform a simple staircase into a layered journey — guiding visitors from the vibrant energy of the worldly realm toward a quieter moment of reflection, contemplation, and elevation.
