Celestial Shoal

Concept statement

“Celestial Shoal” draws inspiration from the mythical creatures of the Himmapan Forest, a legendary landscape in Thai mythology where extraordinary beings inhabit a world shaped by imagination.

In this interpretation, the fish do not swim through water but glide through the air, as if drifting across the heavens. By shifting the familiar into the unexpected, the work transforms reality into a space of imagination.

Each fish emits a subtle inner glow, symbolizing hope, creativity, and the boundless nature of imagination — an invisible force that becomes visible when given space to emerge.

Although constructed from steel and steel plates — materials often associated with strength and structure — the delicate techniques of weaving and forging soften the forms. The resulting lines appear fluid and dynamic, as though the fish are truly moving through the air.

Within the environment of Kinnaree, the shoal becomes a metaphor for creative energy — free, flowing, and unrestricted — moving gracefully through the space.
